The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we have since surpassed what we originally set out to do.
In 2013, after 2 years of successful testing, Prodigy Disc introduced a line of discs to the harshest critics - the highest ranked players in the world. We set out to create and produce discs that would offer longer flight and improved accuracy amongst players of all skill levels and throwing power. Our original mission was to develop a more consistent range of “golf discs”. Prodigy Disc was founded by World Champion disc golfers who strive to inject innovation into the sport. Information about Prodigy Disc straight from their website: Prodigy Disc is based out of Georgia and it was an any decision to partner up with them first. It just didn't work for me.Southside Plastics always wants to support local companies when we can. Lots of this is my personal opinion though, if you enjoy throwing prodigy, have at it. When i asked how many were made /how hard to find they were and I was told that they were super limited, and most of the people that have them won't sell them I decided to go with plastic that is easily available. My one friend that bags mostly prodigy doesn't throw any current run stuff, almost all from the "money" test run of the white/Grey plastic. It wasn't worth the effort for me when I can go grab 2 comets that will fly identical, or I can pick up a backup thunderbird that will fly just like my current one did when it was new. But after I bought 3 a4s that were the same weight, from the same run, and almost the same color, and they all flew wildly different during field work I put them down.
Their a series is the only thing that had a chance of staying in my bag. But they do not make a putter that feels and flies like I want. It has a large following in my area, and a few of the prodigy things I've thrown have impressed me, but finding ones that matched was impossible. Yes, but with much larger runs the chances of finding things that fly the same is much harder. It's too bad you're not near here or I'd let you throw my stuff, I think I've got almost one of everything they make (and a lot more of the stuff I bag). (I find them a little hard to hold on to, they want to come out early.) This makes them glide less. (X1 isn't anything like a D1), but the X series is not as tall and is especially not as deep inside. The X series of discs closely match the D series, D2-X2 D3-X3, etc. I still carry a Champ Firebird (that's now a little beat in), and now a new Sparkle Enemy (it's a great Firebird replacement). The H series doesn't seem to cut through the air with the same speed, they feel "sluggish". A 750 H2 comes closest to being a Champ Glow Thundy. Nothing Prodigy has really replaces a Thunderbird (I still bag a Champ and a Champ Glow Thundys). I don't need it often, but when I do, nothing else will do. It's like a much faster flat top Firebird, like a 12 speed FAF Firebird, that's less glidey. X1 (If you can find one): Nothing else is like it. M2: replaced Truths and Rocs M4: replaced Comet M1: overstableĪ1/A2 (depending on whether you like beads or not) are excellent short, overstable throwers. I bag a lot of Prodigy, I used to throw a lot of Innova.ĭ1, D2, D3: Replaced XCals, Scorpius/Destroyers, Terns r/discgolfauctions - Auction off disc golf discs and disc golf related products Useful Info To avoid repetitive content we will create Megathreads and Stickies for users to share to and avoid issues of dozens of similar posts.
